Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Completed work In 2018, measures were taken to restore forests; ForestGrand LLC planted 135 thousand forest crops. Korean pine seedlings on an area of 46 hectares. 10 company employees and 10 people from the local population of the Primorsky Territory were involved.
In order to implement the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 7 May 2018 No. 204 "On national goals and strategic objectives for the development of the Russian Federation for the period until 2024", the federal project "Forest Conservation" of the national project "Ecology", a number of tree planting events are held in Primorsky Krai.
The federal project "Forest Conservation" is part of the national project "Ecology" and is being implemented from 01.10.2018 - 31.12.2024. The supervisor of the federal project is Victoria Abramchenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation. The head of the federal project is Sergey Anoprienko, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation.
The federal project is aimed at preserving national forests in order to provide a comfortable and safe environment for Russian residents. It is supposed to combat deforestation, reproduce forest cover in all areas of felled and dead forest plantations, and involve the population in measures to protect, protect and reproduce forests.
By 2024, reforestation in Russia should reach 1.5 million hectares per year. Success in reforestation depends largely on the quantity and quality of seeds. Seed centres across the country are involved in the cultivation of forest planting material - in the Tambov, Leningrad and Arkhangelsk Regions, Crimea, Dagestan, Altai Territory, etc. For example, there are seven forest nurseries on Sakhalin, where 8.3 million spruce and larch seedlings are grown.

The goal of the regional project is to ensure a balance of forest retirement and regeneration in the ratio of 100 per cent by 2024, the task is to preserve forests, including on the basis of their regeneration on all areas of felled and dead forest plantations.
The total amount of financial support for the project implementation until 2024 is 2.2 billion rubles, including more than 900 million rubles at the expense of the federal budget. RUR 421 million is envisaged for the purchase of special vehicles and equipment, including forest firefighting equipment.
The project envisages the implementation of the following key activities in Primorsky Krai:
- increase in the area of reforestation and afforestation;
- increase in the amount of planting material of forest plants grown;
- increase in the stock of seeds of forest plants for reforestation;
- decrease in the area of dead forest plantations.
