Sustainable development: what does it mean for the industry and the company? Implementation of the National Project “Ecology” 2024
The largest reforestation campaign in the country.
In 2024, forest reproduction activities were carried out on the territory of the lease areas of ForestGrand LLC, combined and artificial reforestation on 65 hectares, 194.5 thousand seedlings of Korean Cedar were planted. The project involved 30 employees of the company, 10 people of the local population.
The goal of the federal project is to ensure a balance of forest retirement and regeneration in the ratio of 100% by 2024. This indicator has already been achieved and exceeded: in 2021, 2022 and 2023, the area of planted forest exceeded the area of forest lost due to forest fires.
In 2024, reforestation and afforestation in Russia will be carried out on an area of 1.4 million hectares. In total for 5 years, the area of reforestation and afforestation in the country totalled 6.3 million hectares. In 2023, reforestation will be carried out on 1.4 million hectares, which is 6.7% more than last year, and afforestation will be carried out on 5.1 thousand hectares, which is 102% of the annual plan. One of the important indicators of the federal project is 100% equipping of specialised institutions with forest firefighting equipment. By the end of 2024, Russian forestry will be provided with 100 per cent of forest firefighting equipment, currently the figure is 95.1 per cent. Over the past five years, 48.3 thousand units of forest firefighting machinery and equipment have been purchased under the National Project. In 2024, it is planned to purchase more than 16 thousand units of forest firefighting equipment.
In support of the federal project "Forest Conservation", the "Save the Forest" campaign takes place every year. From August to November, volunteers plant young forests in all regions of the country under the guidance of local forestry companies. The campaign is supported by bloggers, show business stars and representatives of the business community Every Russian can take part in the greening of their small and, therefore, large homeland - plant a tree in a forest or in a city park. Thanks to the national project "Ecology", everyone has the opportunity to plant a tree.
The largest reforestation campaign in the country is the All-Russian campaign "Save the Forest": it lasts literally all year round, starting with warm spring days and ending with the arrival of cold weather. To go tree planting, all you need to do is go to the website, select your region on the interactive map, find the nearest planting point and write to the curator.
