The launch of a granulation line from NPO Mekhanika-Trans (Russian production) is planned for 2024

Start-up of the pelletising line.

A pelletising line from NPO Mekhanika-Trans (also Russian production) is scheduled to be launched in 2024. The acquisition is planned within the framework of the Leasing project from the Industrial Development Fund, the total planned investment volume is 188 million rubles.

This equipment will allow ForestGrand LLC to fully switch to zero-waste full-cycle production in the future.

One of the modern types of solid fuel is pellets, fuel pellets, which are actively used in special pellet boilers for heating residential buildings, commercial and industrial facilities.

Pellets are a granulated type of solid fuel of cylindrical shape, from compressed agricultural waste woodworking industry.

The main materials for the manufacture of fuel pellets are:

sawdust, chips, bark, hump of coniferous and deciduous (optimal variant) wood;

peat;

charcoal;

household waste.

The basic binder is a substance of plant origin - lignin, a natural polymer contained in almost any plant, which is able to plasticise during granulation under the influence of a sufficiently high operating temperature.

The production of pellets consists in pressing the waste pre-dried to a certain moisture content and crushed to a given fraction under pressure of about 300 atmospheres. In this case, the use of glue and other additives is prohibited (sometimes impure traders add sand and other non-combustible impurities to increase the weight of pellets, and synthetic polymers to ensure adhesive properties).

The main stages of pellet production: Grinding. Raw material enters the crusher and is crushed to the specified fraction; Drying. The obtained raw material is dried to the moisture content percentage specified by the technology (about 10% plus or minus 2%);

Pressing. The dried raw material enters the press pelletiser, in which it is pressed into pellets of a given length and diameter, as a result of compression, friction, adiabatic processes, the temperature can reach 100°C Celsius, as a result, heat energy is generated, softening the lignin and the particles are glued into pellets. This process is called pelletisation; Cooling. To ensure the strength of the fuel pellets, the pellets are cooled after pressing; Packaging and dispatch to the consume.
