Forestry equipment connected to ERA-GLONASS has covered over 61 thousand kilometers

As part of testing "ERA-GLONASS" to transmit information about the movement of equipment to the FSIS of the Forestry Complex, it is equipped only with domestic satellite navigation equipment from NPP ITELMA and LLC Santel-Navigation. The pilot project, taking place in the Arkhangelsk and Ulyanovsk regions, was organized by Rosleskhoz together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and JSC GLONASS.

“To test the mechanisms for equipping with satellite navigation equipment, 17 different models of forestry equipment were equipped, the owners of which are more than 10 large, medium and small enterprises. During the pilot project, the connected equipment has already worked for more than 3.5 thousand hours, during which it has covered over 61 thousand. km - 1.5 times more than the Earth’s equator,” the message quotes the words of Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Shpak.

The deputy minister also noted that the Auto Electronics Consortium, with the support of the ministry, has created a platform on which Russian trusted solutions will be presented, information necessary for ordering equipment, organizing installation on equipment and receiving advice on issues of interest to the industry.

“In this project, ERA-GLONASS acts as an assistant for owners of forestry equipment to comply with the requirements of the law and a reliable tool for transferring data to the FSIS of the Forestry Complex.

Based on the results of testing the intermediate results of the experiment, in early July we will launch a special website for answers to organizational questions and the convenience of subsequent connection of forestry equipment to our system, which will start in October. All interaction with users will be configured online,” said Alexey Raikevich, General Director of GLONASS JSC.
