Social policy: Providing socially vulnerable residents with free firewood for heating their homes

ForestGrand LLC is engaged in timber harvesting activities on leased forest areas in the Dalnerechensky, Chuguevsky and Spassky districts of the Far Eastern Federal District of Primorsky Krai and performs deep processing of timber at a timber processing plant located in the city of Spassk-Dalniy, Primorsky Krai, and produces planed sawn timber.
The annual volume of timber harvesting and roundwood removal is 300 thousand m3 of timber per year.
The Company is able to sell at least 10% of the annual volume of firewood for heating to citizens in the form of sawing waste and logging waste. On the eve of the winter heating season 2022-2023, in cooperation with local authorities, the Company launched a social project to provide citizens with firewood for heating their homes, especially socially vulnerable categories of citizens with firewood for heating.
Within the framework of this project, the Company will assist families of the participants of the SWO, they will receive free firewood for home heating, according to the lists provided by local authorities in the municipal districts where the Company operates.
At the wood processing plant, firewood for heating is available year-round in the form of sawmill waste (trimmings, off-cuts, edgings, humpwood) for purchase by citizens, with the possibility of self-removal and delivery services to the specified address.
Also, during the winter timber harvesting period, the company has the opportunity to provide citizens with firewood for heating in the form of logging residues (tops and off-cuts) from the upper storages. The basic right to harvest firewood and benefits for certain categories of citizens are set out in Article 30 of the Forest Code of the Russian Federation.
According to its norms, only persons who belong to the indigenous minorities of the North, Siberia and the Far East can harvest wood for heating and other own needs free of charge.
