ForestGrand LLC - Resident of the free port of Vladivostok began production of veneer in the Primorsky Territory

A resident of the Free Port of Vladivostok started production of veneer in the Primorsky Territory of the Russian Federation.

ForestGrand LLC, a resident of the Free Port of Vladivostok, has invested 823.1 million rubles in a project to create a timber processing complex in Primorye, the press service of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation reported.

At the next stages of development of the timber processing complex, the volume of investments will increase to 1.54 billion rubles, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation said.

Currently, the company has launched a test production line for hardwood veneer. The planned production volume is 20,000 m3 of products per year. The production of veneer is the next stage in the creation of a wood processing complex.

Within a month the technologists will be adjusting the production process in order to achieve high quality of the final product and train the line operators to work on the new high-tech equipment. We plan to put the line into full operation and start commercial production of the new product in spring 2022.

In 2019, the first stage of the sawmill and a logistics complex for delivery of finished products were launched.

Today, logging operations and production of cut and uncut sawn timber: beams, planks and other timber of any moisture content are underway. Production capacity is 300 thousand m3 per year. Lumber is supplied to China and the Russian domestic market, which will eventually become the main market.

The next stage is the launch of a softwood veneer line. Planning and implementation of a project for the production of furniture boards and terraces is also underway. It is planned to utilise wood processing waste through the production of fuel pellets. Thus, the preferential regime allowed the investor to increase the efficiency of the project by more than 50%. ForestGrand, which has implemented a project to create a timber processing and logistics complex in the town of Spassk-Dalnoye, Primorsky Krai, is expanding its product line.

The company plans to continue selling its finished products both on domestic and foreign markets. The sawn timber can be used as raw material for plywood production, in furniture manufacturing, in construction and reconstruction of buildings and structures, as well as for decorative finishing in interior design projects and other applications.

Currently, in addition to Primorsky Krai, the Free Port of Vladivostok regime applies to Khabarovsk Krai (Vaninsky and Sovetsko-Gavansky municipal districts), Sakhalin Oblast (Korsakov and Uglegorsky municipal districts), Kamchatka Krai (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky) and Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (Pevek).
